We have two beautiful cottages for you to choose from. Both our cottages are set up for work and relaxation. There’s a lounge, a kitchen with pots, pans and all equipment, indoor and outdoor dining areas, tables for dining and working, speedy wi-fi … everything you’ll need, whether you’re on a short staycation of a few days or a longer work assignment of several weeks.

There are a great many things to do and see within easy driving distance from Snow View Cottages. Drive slowly, take in the beautiful views, and feel free to stop every now and again to admire the beauty of Nature!

- Fully functional kitchen to make your own food should you so wish.
- Regular cleaning of the property during your stay (on alternate days).
- Use of outdoor porch area – to sit, chat, read or have tea/snacks.
- Use of dining area in the garden.

- We can also organize a cook to prepare delicious homemade food for you during your stay (at cost – pay directly).
- Parking for up to 2 vehicles.
WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE
- Shopping: Plenty of stores within a 10 minute walk.
- Groceries: Available for Indian as well as Western cooking.
- Cafes and restaurants: many, within walking distance that serve Indian and Western food
- Amenities: Internet cafes, mobile phone top ups, etc are all available close by.
- Travel agents: to book travel by rail, air or taxi.

LOCATION
Snow View Cottages are located near Almora in the hills of the Kumaon region in the state of Uttarakhand, India. The location is very well connected by road. The cottages are just a 150m walk from the road.
By Road:
The cottages are located 5 km outside Almora town, from the main bus stand. You can hire a taxi for ‘Paparsali’, which is just 15 minutes from Almora town by taxi. The cottages are located right at Paparsali.
By Air + Road:
The nearest airports are Pantnagar (118km) and Bareilly (188km), from where you can travel by road to Paparsali.
By Rail + Road:
The property is located 3 hours’ drive from the nearest railway station of Kathgodam. There is a taxi company that regularly brings guests here from the train station, and we can book this for you. You can directly pay the driver and get a receipt. The company has well behaved drivers and they know where the property is located.

About The Owners
Greetings!
We are Rashmi Bharti and Rajnish Jain. We’ve been married since 1990, and shifted to the magnificent Kumaon Himalayas in the 1990s and made this place our home. We love nature and believe in a healthy, holistic lifestyle that includes vegetarian food, yoga, and a simple way of living. The cottages were designed and built by us to fulfill our dream of a modern Kumaoni home made with local material and artisans.
We co-founded Avani, a non-profit working with development and dissemination of appropriate technology and livelihood opportunities in rural Kumaon. Rashmi is an artist by nature, and has an interest in craft and pottery. Rajnish is an avid trekker and has an interest in yoga.
We lived at Snow View Cottages for over 10 years, and now live at the Avani Center, which is located 100 kilometres north-east of Paparsali.
