The area caters for everyone from the naturalist to the cultural tourist at all levels of fitness from the casual walk to strenous hikes. There are a great many things to do and see; take your pick! A sample of activities is presented below. If you have any queries, please just ask. We’d be delighted to provide you more information.
- Bonfire
Enjoy the mystique and joy of a bonfire under the stars. For those of us who used to enjoy this activity in the cold winter months during our childhoods, it is a way to reconnect with those experiences, or to share them with our children who may not have had the experience living in apartment complexes in the city. Alternately, use it as an opportunity to simply cuddle with a loved one in the warmth of the fire. Please note that we only allow bonfires under supervision - in a container expressly used for that purpose. The forest nearby has a wealth of flora, and fire can destroy in hours what takes hundreds of years for nature to create. So we wish to remind our guests of this fact, and ask that you take due precautions.
- Reading
For those of our guest who enjoy curling up with a good book, we stock a good selection of books on a wide range of topics varying from philosophy to social ideas. Explore the joys of reading in a tranquil environment. A reader is spoilt for choice of location - in the house, in the garden, in the forest, or in one of the cafes nearby!
- The sounds of nature
Our senses are usually overwhelmed with the amount of information being bombarded on them these days. Noise is one of the greatest causes of stress. Simply sit silently and enjoy the rejuvenating sounds of nature all around you - the twittering of birds, the rustle of leaves in the breeze, and the occasional calls of wild animals.
- Yoga
Reconnect with your body. Experience the joy of practicing yoga asanas (positions) and pranayama (breathing exercises) in a serene and fresh environment. We can arrange for a highly qualified Yoga instructor to come and give you sessions during your stay with us.
